Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas teknik sosiodrama dalam meningkatkan komunikasi interpersonal siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pre-experimental design dengan bentuk one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu 272 siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakandansampel 11siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan skala komunikasi interpersonal dengan skala likert. Penelitian ini menggunakan rumus product moment untuk uji validitas skala komunikasi interpersonal dengan hasil dari 42 butir pernyataan terdapat 28butir yang valid. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial yaitu dengan menggunakan uji paired sample t-testdikorelasikan menggunakan program SPSS 22 for windows.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sebelum dan sesudah pemberian perlakuan, diperoleh hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis diperoleh thitung sebesar 17,732 sementara ttabel dengan db N-1 = 5 dan taraf siginifikan 5% (0,05) sebesar 1,812. Berdasarkan hasil pengelolaan t-test dengan menggunakan SPSS 22 for windows menunjukkan thitung > ttabel atau 17,732 > 1,812 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh teknik bermain peran terhadap kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan tahun pelajaran 2015/2016.

The objective of this research was to know there is an improvement of sosiodrama technique on the students’ communication interpersonal at seventh grade Students of SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan in the academic year of 2015/2016. The research design was pre-experimental design with one group pretest posttest design. The population in this research was 272 students and the sample was 11 students at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan. The technique of data collection in this research used interpersonal communication scale with likert scale. This research used product moment formula to test the interpersonal communication validity scale with the result that 28 items were valid from 42 items. The technique of data analysis in this research was descriptive statistic technique and inferential statistic by using paired sample t-test that correlated by SPSS 22.0 for windows program. Based on this research result of before and after the treatment, it was obtained from hypothesis test computation that tcount was 17,732while ttable with df N-1 = 5 and significant level 5% (0,05) was1,812. Based on the t-test by using SPSS 22 for windows showed that tcount > ttable or 17,732 > 1,812 then it can be concluded that there was an improvement of sosiodrama technique on students’ communication interpersonal at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Tarakan in the academic year of 2015/2016.
