Abstract
Tanah Mineral Masam Memiliki Kemampuan Memegang Air Yang Rendah. Agar Dapat Dimanfaatkan Salah Satu Alternatif Pengelolaan Yaitu Meningkatkan Kemampuan Tanah Memegang Air Dengan Memanfaatkan Bahan Organik Berupa Kompos Dan Biochar. Penelitian Ini Bertujuan Untuk Mengetahui Pengaruh Penambahan Kompos + Biochar, Terhadap Kemampuan Tanah Memegang Air Dengan Adanya Vegetasi Tanaman Jagung Dan Tanaman Kacang Putih.
Penelitian Ini Dilaksanakan Di Green House Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Borneo Tarakan Dari Bulan November 2015 Hingga Januari 2016. Rancangan Yang Digunakan Adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Dengan 6 Perlakuan Dan 4 Ulangan. Analisis Data Menggunakan Anova Dan Uji Lanjut BNT (Dengan Tingkat Kepercayaan 95%). Perlakuan Yang Digunakan Yaitu P0(Tanah),P1(Tanah+Jagung), P2 (Tanah+Kacang Putih), P3 (Kompos+Biochar), P4 (Kompos+Biochar+Jagung), P5 (Kompos+Biochar+Kacang Putih). Hasil Penelitian Ini Menunjukkan Bahwa Biochar + Kompos Memiliki Kemampuan Dalam Memperbaiki Sifat Kimia Tanah, Ditunjukkan Pada Peningkatan C-Organik, PH Tanah Dan Kandungan N Total Tanah. Aplikasi Kompos+Biochar Dan Adanya Vegetasi (Tanaman) Dapat Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menahan Air Pada Tanah Mineral Masam. Kesimpulan Penelitian Ini Adalah Kompos+Biochar Dapat Meningkatkan Kemampuan Tanah Mineral Masam Dalam Memegang Air Dan Jenis Tanaman Tidak Berbeda Dalam Mempengaruhi Kemampuan Tanah Memegang Air.

Sour Mineral Soils Have Low Water Holding Ability. In Order To Be Utilized, Increasing The Ability Of The Soil To Hold Water Is An Alternative Way To Accelerate The Improvement Of Soil Quality By Utilizing Organic Materials Such As Compost And Biochar. This Study Aims To Determine The Effect Of Compost + Biochar Addition On The Ability Of The Soil To Hold Water In The Presence Of Corn Vegetation And White Bean Plants. This Study Was Conducted At The Green House Of The Agriculture Faculty Of The University Of Borneo Tarakan, From November To January 2016. The Design Used Was Randomized Block Design (RBD) With 6 Treatments And 4 Replications. Data Analysis Is Done By Using Anova And BNT Advanced Test (With A 95% Confidence Level). The Treatments Used Were P0 (Soil), P1 (Soil + Corn), P2 (Soil + Peanut), P3 (Compost + Biochar), P4 (Compost + Biochar + Corn), P5 (Compost + Biochar + White Bean). The Result Of This Study Indicates That Biochar + Compost Has Ability To Improve Soil Chemical Properties, Proved By An Increase In Organic C, Soil PH And Total N Soil Content. The Application Of Compost+Biochar And The Presence Of Vegetation (Plants) Can Improve The Ability To Retain Water In The Soil Minerals To Sour. Conclusion Of This Research Is To Compost + Biochar Can Increase The Ability Of Soil Minerals In Holding Water And Sour Types Of Plants Are No Different In Soil Water Holding Capability.
