
Analisis Self Efficacy Siswa Kelas XII MIPA SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan Dalam Memecahkan Masalah Matematika Ditinjau Dari Perbedaan Gender

Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan self-efficacy siswa kelas XII MIPA SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan dalam memecahkan masalah matematika ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian, yaitu satu siswa gender maskulin dan satu siswa gender feminin dengan klasifikasi self-efficacy tinggi. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari angket self-efficacy, Bem Seks Role Inventory, tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, pedoman wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang telah disesuaikan dengan kriteria self-efficacy dalam pemecahan masalah matematika milik Polya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan deskripsi antara siswa gender maskulin dan gender feminin. Subjek maskulin memiliki keyakinan yang tinggi akan kemampuannya memecahkan masalah matematika. Akan tetapi, subjek maskulin lebih banyak membutuhkan bantuan orang lain dan masih belum bisa mengendalikan emosi serta rasa cemasnya secara optimal. Subjek sering kali membutuhkan bantuan dari guru maupun teman sebaya dalam prosesnya mengerjakan masalah matematika. Meskipun demikian, subjek bersungguh-sungguh mengerjakan pemecahan masalah dan mampu meyakinkan diri serta menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika dengan baik dan meminimalisir gangguan yang timbul selama proses pemecahan masalah matematika. Subjek dengan gender feminin memiliki keyakinan diri akan kemampuannya memecahkan masalah matematika. Subjek feminin mampu mengendalikan emosi dan rasa cemas serta mampu meminimalisir ketergantungan terhadap bantuan orang lain, baik guru mata pelajaran maupun teman sebaya. Subjek feminin bersungguh-sungguh mengerjakan pemecahan masalah matematika dan mampu meyakinkan diri serta menyelesaikan permasalah matematika dengan baik dan meminimalisir gangguan yang timbul selama proses pemecahan masalah matematika.

This study aimed to describe the self-efficacy of class XII MIPA SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan students in solving math problems in terms of gender differences. In this descriptive qualitative study, one male and one female students, each with a high self-efficacy rating, acted as the research subjects. The instruments utilized in this study included a self-efficacy questionnaire, the Sex Role Inventory, assessments of problems-solving aptitude, interview guidelines, and documentation that had been altered to comply with Polya’s self-efficacy standards for solving mathematical problems. The findings demonstrated that the descriptions of students who identified as male and female varied. Male subject was quite confident in their capacity to handle mathematical issues. However, male subject needed more help from other people and still could not control their emotions and anxiety optimally. Subjects often needed help from teachers and peers in the process of working on math problems. However, the subjects were committed to finding a solution to the issues and were able to persuade themselves to do so, which allowed them to effectively solve mathematical issues and reduce the disruptions that could occur while doing so. Female subject had confidence in their ability to solve mathematical problems. Female subject was able to control emotions and anxiety and was able to minimize dependence on the help of others, both subject teachers and peers. Female subject was serious about solving math problems and was able to convince herself and solve math problems well and minimize distractions that arise during the process of solving math problems.
