Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.), adapun upaya yang dilakukan yaitu dengan memberikan komposisi media tanam dan POC eceng gondok. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan suatu alternatif dalam memodifikasi komposisi media tanam pada tanaman mentimun dengan cara penggunakan komposisi media tanam berbahan organik dan memanfaatkan penggunakan pupuk berbahan organik dari tanaman eceng gondok sebagai POC pada tiap polybag diduga mampu mengoptimalkan serta memaksimalkan pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.). Hal dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi media tanam dan poc eceng gondok terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman mentimun. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan pertanian fakultas pertanian, Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan 2 faktor yaitu faktor pertama komposisi media tanam memiliki 4 taraf dan faktor kedua POC eceng gondok memiliki 4 taraf serta 3 kali ulangan maka didapatkan 16 kombinasi perlakuan. Racangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah RAK dengan pola factorial, data yang diperoleh dianalisis sidik ragam dan diuji lanjut apabila berbeda nyata mengunakan Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan komposisi media tanam tidak berpengaruh nyata pada pertumbuhan tanaman dan produksi tanaman serta perlakuan POC eceng gondok tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah buah, panjang buah, diameter buah panen kedua dan ketiga, berat buah panen ketiga serta berat total buah panen ketiga. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa komposisi media tanam dan poc eceng gondok yang dikombinasikan dengan POC eceng gondok perlakuan terbaik dihasilkan pada perlakuan M3P3 (tanah + kotoran ayam 500 gram + cocopeat 300 gr + 55 ml poc eceng gondok).

This research was conducted to increase the growth and production of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) plants, while efforts were made to provide the composition of planting media and water hyacinth POC. Therefore, we need an alternative in modifying the composition of the growing media on cucumber plants by using the composition of planting media made from organic and utilizing the use of organic fertilizers from water hyacinth plants as POC in each polybag allegedly able to optimize and maximize the growth and production of cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.). This was done to determine the effect of the composition of the growing media and water hyacinth ponds on the growth and production of cucumber plants. This research was conducted on agricultural land, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Borneo Tarakan. This research is a research with 2 factors, the first factor is the composition of the growing media has 4 levels and the second factor is POC water hyacinth which has 4 levels and 3 replications, so 16 treatment combinations are obtained. The research design used was RAK with a factorial pattern, the data obtained were analyzed for variance and further tested if they were significantly different using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. The results showed that the composition of the planting medium had no significant effect on plant growth and plant production and the POC treatment of water hyacinth did not significantly affect the number of fruits, fruit length, diameter of the second and third harvests, the weight of the third harvested fruit and the total weight of the third harvested fruit. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the composition of planting media and water hyacinth pots combined with water hyacinth POC was best produced in the M3P3 treatment (soil + 500 gram chicken manure + 300 gr cocopeat + 55 ml water hyacinth pouch).
