Abstract

Pembelajaran yang dilakukan selama masa pandemi covid-19 menimbulkan kesulitan belajar yang dialami oleh siswa, oleh karena itu peran guru sangat penting dalam membantu siswa yang mengalami kesulitan belajar. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran guru dalam menghadapi kesulitan belajar siswa kelas IV-A di SDN 031 Tarakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriftif dengan lokasi penelitian yaitu di SDN 031 Tarakan. Informan pada penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru kelas, dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumen. Proses analisis data melalui reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru SDN 031 Tarakan telah menjalankan perannya (1) sebagai pembimbing, yaitu guru telah mengenal siswanya terutama yang mengalami kesulitan belajar sehingga guru dapat memberikan bimbingan belajar seperti bimbingan individu dan kelompok. (2) sebagai fasilitator, yaitu guru telah mengusahakan fasilitas belajar berupa sumber belajar seperti buku paket atau tema dan LKPD sedangkan untuk media belajar guru menggunakan laptop, LCD dan speaker untuk menampilkan media audio visual kepada siswa yang belajar disekolah sedangkan siswa yang belajar daring guru mengirimkan video pembelajaran melalui whatsapp group. (3) sebagai motivator, yaitu guru selalu memberikan penguatan berupa pujian, nasehat dan motivasi yang dilakukan saat pembelajaran daring maupun belajar disekolah. (4) sebagai evaluator, guru mengevaluasi hasil belajar siswa dengan memberikan tugas dan ulangan harian secara daring melalui whatsapp group dan saat pembelajaran di sekolah, guru juga menanyakan hal yang belum dipahami oleh siswa. Guru akan melakukan tindaklanjut terhadap siswa yang nilainya dibawah KKM dengan melakukan remedial.

Learning activities performed during the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in learning difficulties experienced by students. Thus, teachers’ role is greatly essential in helping the students with learning difficulties. This research aimed to figure out the teachers’ role in facing learning difficulties experienced by the Grade IV-A students at SDN 031 Tarakan. The research used a descriptive-qualitative method with the research location at SDN 031 Tarakan. The research informants were the principals, classroom teachers, and students. The research data were collected using interviews, observation, and document studies. The collected data were then processed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the teachers of SDN 031 Tarakan had performed their roles. (1) As mentors, the teachers had known their students, especially those with learning difficulties. Thus, the teachers could provide learning guidance, such as individual and group guidance. (2) As facilitators, the teachers had tried to provide learning facilities in the form of learning resources, such as textbooks or theme-based books and students’ worksheets (known as LKPD/Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik), while for learning media, the teachers used laptops, LCDs, and speakers to display the audio visual media to the students learning at school, while those learning through online, the teachers sent learning videos through WhatsApp groups. (3) As motivators, the teachers always provided reinforcement in the form of praises, advice, and motivation given during the online learning and learning at school. (4) As evaluators, the teachers evaluated the students’ learning achievements by giving assignments and daily tests online through WhatsApp groups, and when learning at school, the teachers also asked questions to the students or vice versa, to check their understanding. The teachers gave the follow up activities to the students whose scores were below the minimum mastery criteria (known as KKM/Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal) by giving remedial tests.
