An Analysis Of Teacher’s Questioning Strategies In EFL Classroom Interaction At Eight Grade Students Of SMP Negeri 9 Tarakan

Abstrak Indonesia

Penelitian bertujuan untuk, mengidentifikasi bentuk pertanyaan yang dipakai oleh guru, bagaimana cara mengaplikasikan pertanyaan yang akan diajukan, menemukan respon dan perasaan pada siswa kelas delapan di smp negeri 9 tarakan tahun akademik 2021. penelitian menggunakan descriptive qualitative research design. data diambil melalui observasi kelas, wawancara, dan kuesioner. hasil dari penelitian di temukan 25 pertanyaan yang digunakan oleh guru sebagai bentuk questioning strategies, 25 pertanyaan diklasifikasikan menjadi 3 bagian yaitu display question, referential question, dan procedural question. ditemukan 16 pertanyaan display question dengan total kemunculan 64%, dari referential question 6 pertanyaan dengan total kemunculan 24%, dan procedural question 3 pertanyan dengan total kemunculan 12%. kesimpulannya, pertanyaan yang paling sering digunakan oleh guru dalam menerapkan questioning strategies adalah display question.

The purpose of the study was to determine the teacher's questioning style, how to apply the questions, and find the reactions and feelings among eighth grade students at smp negeri 9 tarakan during the 2021 academic year. a descriptive qualitative research design was adopted in this study. class observations, interviews, and questionnaires were used to collect data. the findings of the study revealed that the teachers employ 25 questions as part of their questioning strategies. these 25 questions were divided into three categories: display questions, referential questions, and procedural questions. there were 16 display questions with a total of 64% occurrence, 6 referential questions with a total of 24% occurrence, and 3 procedural questions with a total of 12% occurrence. in conclusion, the display question was the most commonly utilized question by the teachers when adopting questioning strategies.
