Kota tarakan merupakan daerah yang mengandalkan curah hujan sebagai sumber air, jika tidak terjadi hujan pdam memprediksi ketersediaan air hanya cukup untuk 4 bulan, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui debit air sungai sesanip serta kebutuhan air di kota tarakan, guna acuan untuk mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan potensi intake di sungai tersebut untuk cadangan sumber air ipa kampung bugis kota tarakan. dalam penelitian ini dilakukan analisis ketersediaan air dengan metode fj. mock, untuk memproyeksikan jumlah penduduk menggunakan metode geometrik, selain itu dalam penelitian ini juga menghitung kebutuhan air di kota tarakan pada tahun 2030. dari hasil analisis dan perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, penulis menarik kesimpulan pada penelitian ini yang pertama, ketersediaan air di sungai sesanip kota tarakan diperoleh nilai debit andalan 80% terendah pada bulan agustus sebesar 0,10 m3/s dan debit andalan 80% tertinggi terjadi pada bulan desember sebesar 0,42 m3/s. kedua, kebutuhan air di kota tarakan pada tahun 2030 dengan jumlah penduduk 315.839 jiwa menggunakan perkiraan standar kebutuhan air bersih diperoleh kebutuhan air rata-rata sebesar 0,56 m3/s, dan kebutuhan harian maksimum sebesar 0,64 m3/s, sedangkan kebutuhan jam puncak sebesar 0,97 m3/s

Tarakan is an area that rely on rainfall as a source of water, if it doesn't rain, pdam predicts that there will only be enough water for 4 months. this study aims to determine the water flow of the river sesanip as well as the needs of the water in the city of tarakan. as a reference for optimizing the utilization of the potential intake in the river for water resources reserves for ipa kampung bugis, tarakan city. in this research, the analysis of the availability of water by the method of fj. mock and to project the number of residents using the geometric method, in addition, this study also calculate the water needs in the city of tarakan in the year 2030. from the results of the analysis and calculations have been carried out, the authors draw the conclusion in this research, first, the availability of water in the river sesanip tarakan city obtained a value of the discharge mainstay of 80% low in august of 0.10 m3 /s and the 80% discharge mainstay of the highest occurred in december of 0.42 m3/s. second, the needs of water in the city of tarakan in the year 2030 with a population of 315,695 souls using the standard estimate of the need for clean water is obtained the water needs of the average of 0.56 m3/s, and the needs of the daily maximum of 0.64 m3/s, while the need of the hour peak at 0.97 m3/s..
