Improving Students’ Speaking Achievement On Procedure Text Through Direct Method In Seventh Grade Students Of Class VII-1 At SMP Negeri 4 Tarakan

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa dalam materi teks prosedur menggunakan metode langsung (direct method) pada siswa kelas vii-1 di smpn 4 tarakan. penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakkan dalam 2 siklus. masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, ddan refleksi. insrtumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes lisan dan lembar pengamatan (lembar pengamatan guru dan lembar pengamatan siswa). hasil belajar siswa pada siklus 1 adalah 62.5% dan hasil belajar siswa pada siklus 2 adalah 77.5 %. ada peningkatan sebanyak 15% dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2. kesimpulan penelitian tindakan kelas ini yang menggunakan metode langsung (direct method) pada pengajaan materi teks prosedur pada siswa kelas vii-1 di smpn 4 tarakan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswaa.

The objective of the research was to improve the students’ speaking achievement on procedure text through direct method at seventh grade students of class vii-1 at smpn 4 tarakan. this car (classroom action research) was conducted in two cycles. each cycle consists of four stages; those were planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. the instruments used by the researcher were oral test and observation sheet (teacher’s observation sheet and students’ observation sheet). the result of students’ success in cycle 1 was 62.5% and the result of students’ success in cycle 2 was 77.5%. there was improvement 15% from cycle 1 to cycle 2. the conclusion in this car (classromm action research) which using direct method in teaching a procedure text at seventh grade students of class vii-1 at smp 4 tarakan could improve the students’ speaking achievement.
