Abstrak Indonesia

Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menjelaskan tingkat motivasi siswa dalam menulis recount text dengan menggunakan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning di kelas viii smp negeri 4 tarakan. desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas viii smp negeri 4 tarakan yang berjumlah 108 siswa dari penentuan sample dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. data didapatkan dari questionnaire dan observation kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan prosedur statistic deskriptif (persentase dan rata-rata). penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tingkat motivasi siswa dalam menulis recount text melalui pendekatan contextual teaching and learning adalah sangat tinggi (29.63%), tinggi (61.11%), sedang (8.33%) dan rendah (0.93%) dan nilai rata-rata dari motivasi siswa dalam menulis recount text dengan menggunakan pendekatan ctl adalah siswa memiliki motivasi yang tinggi (78.44). berdasarkan hasil observasi terhadap motivasi siswa dalam menulis recount text melalui pendekatan contextual teaching and learning diketahui bahwa siswa memiliki motivasi belajar yang tinggi. dalam menulis recount text menggunakan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning dapat membantu siswa lebih baik dalam menulis. kesimpulannya, tingkat motivasi siswa dalam menulis recount text menggunakan pendekatan ctl approach di kelas viii smp negeri 4 tarakan memiliki motivasi yang tinggi.

The study was intended to explain the level of students’ motivation in writing recount text by using contextual teaching and learning approach at eighth grade of smp negeri 4 tarakan. the research design of this study was descriptive quantitative. the population of this study was the eighth grade of smp negeri 4 tarakan whom 108 students were chosen as samples of research by using cluster random sampling. the data was obtained by administering questionnaire and observation which then analyzed by using descriptive statistical procedure. the study findings indicated that the level of students’ motivation in learning writing recount text by using contextual teaching and learning approach was very high (29.63%), high (61.11%), moderate (8.33%) and low (0.93%). the mean score of the students’ motivation in writing recount text by using contextual teaching and learning approach was high motivation (78.44). based on the observation result of students’ motivation in learning writing recount text by using contextual teaching and learning approach, show that students have high motivation. in writing recount text by using ctl approach can be help the students to better in writing. the conclusion the eighth grade students of smp negeri 4 tarakan had “high” motivation in writing recount text by using contextual teaching and learning approach.
