Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran predict-observe-explain (poe) berbantuan media audiovisual terhadap pemahaman konsep. jenis penelitian menggunakan eksperimen semu dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas vii smp negeri 3 tarakan tahun ajaran 2015/2016, dan sampel sebanyak 2 kelas yaitu kelas vii-8 sebagai kelas kontrol dan vii-9 sebagai kelas ekperimen. teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi, observasi dan tes uraian pemahaman konsep. analisis data menggunakan bantuan software spss 22.0 for windows dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji independent sampel test. berdasarkan pengujian statistik dengan menggunakan uji independent sample t-test diperoleh thitung 5.021 pada taraf signifikansi ? = 0.05 dan dk = 66 diperoleh nilai ttabel 1.668 berarti thitung>ttabel. dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran predict-observe-explain berbantuan media audiovisual terhadap pemahaman konsep belajar ipa siswa kelas vii smp negeri 3 tarakan.

The purpose of research to understand the influence of predict-obverse-explain (poe) learning method that using audiovisual media assits for understanding concept. this kind of research used appearance experiment of entire population of 7th grade junior high school student at smp negeri 3 tarakan at school year of 2015/2016 and the total sample as much as two classes, which is class of vii-8 as a control class and class of vii-9 as a experiment class, this technique took a sample using purposive sampling and collecting data using documentation technigue, obsevation and comentary test of comprehension concept. data analysis used sotfware spss 22.0 for windows with analysis data technique using independent sample t-test. based on statistic examination with using independent test sample t-test obtainable tarithmetic 5.021 for significance level ? = 0.05 and k = 66 value obtainable ttable 1.668 means tarithmetic>ttable. it can conclude that there is a influence of predict-observe-explain learning method that using audiovisual media assits for understanding concept of study of science at junior high school student of science at smp negeri 3 tarakan.
