Abstrak Indonesia

Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi experimental. sampel diambil menggunakan purposive sampling technique. ada dua kelas yang diambil sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini. kelas eksperimen diajarkan menggunakan media pembelajaran word wall dan kelas kontrol diajarkan menggunakan gambar sebagai media. intrumen penelitian ini adalah tes tertulis. data yang dianalisis adalah data nilai hasil pre-test dan post-test dari kelas ekspemen dan kelas kontrol. dalam menganalisis data peneliti menggunakan independent sample ttest menggunakan spss 24.0. hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan dari nilai siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. ini dibuktikan pada nilai rata-rata pre-test siswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 53.30 dan hasil post-test sebesar 63.35. ini menujukan bahwa kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata sebesar 10.05. hasil dari rata-rata dari nilai siswa kelas kontrol pada pre-test sebesar 56.84 dan pada post-test sebesar 59.05 ini menujukan bahwa kelas kontrol mengalami peningkatan sebesar 2,21. ini membuktikan bahwa hasil dari kelas eksperimen lebih besar dari pada kelas kontrol. hasil dari independen sampel test dan ttable dari pre-test sebesar -1.591 dan setelah treatment sebesar 2.034 dan ttable sebesar 1,933 atau pada pre-test -1.591 1,933. dengan kata lain hipotesis nol (h0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (ha) diterima. hasil analisis data membuktikan bahwa hasil pengajaran menggunakan word wall learning media lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan mengunakan picture as learning media. berdasarkan penjelasan di atas, dapat di simpulkan bahwa word wall learning media lebih effectif dari pada menggunakan picture as learning media.

The objective of this research is to know the effect of using word wall learning media on the students writing skill on descriptive text at eighth grade students of mts negeri tarakan. this research used quasi experimental design. the samples were taken by using purposive sampling technique. there were two classes as the samples of this research. the experimental class was taught by using word wall learning media and control class was taught by using picture as learning media. the instrument in this research was writing test. the analyzed data was from pre-test and post-test of experimental class and control class. in analyzing the data, the researcher used independent sample ttest with spss 24.0. the researcher result shows that there is different mean score between experimental class and control class. it is proven by the result of the students’ mean score from experimental class in the pre-test was 53.30 and in the post-test was 63,35. it mean that improvement by the result of the students’ mean score in experimental class was 10.05. the result of control class in the pre-test was 56.84 and in the post-test was 59.05. it means that the improvement of the students mean score in control class was 2.21 it shows that the improvement of the students’ mean score in experimental class was higher than control class. the result of independent sample ttest and ttable in pre-test is -1.591 and after treatment was 2,034 and ttable 1,993 or in pre-test -1.591 < -1,993 and in post-test 2,034 > 1,993. in other words, the null hypothesis (h0) is rejected and alternative hyphotesis is accepted. the result of analysis data result proves that taught by using word wall learning media is more effective than picture as learning media. based on explanation above, it can be concluded that the use word wall learning media is more effective than picture as learning media.
