Pelayanan operasi cito merupakan pelayanan yang dilaksanakan pada pasien yang memerlukan tindakan operasi segera yang dapat mengancam nyawa. pelayanan operasi cito erat kaitannya dengan isu patient safety, dimana isu ini merupakan salah satu manajemen mutu pelayanan yang harus integratif dengan unsur manajemen risiko dan keselamatan pasien sehingga lahir paradigma baru, bahwa mutu pelayanan yang baik saja tidak cukup tanpa memperhatikan bagaimana unsur risiko dan keselamatan pasien (patient safety). penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menggali gambaran penerapan patient safety di ruang operasi cito/emergency rsud dr. h. jusuf sk. penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. teknik pengambilan partisipan menggunakan metode purposive sampling sebanyak 10 partisipan. teknik pengambilan data menggunakan metode wawancara terstruktur dan observasi. teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis tematik braun and clark. hasil wawancara partisipan didapatkan lima tema yang mengambarkan penerapan keselamatan pasien yaitu (1) mempersiapkan pasien sebelum operasi; (2) prioritas keselamatan pasien; (3) manajemen waktu operasi yang belum efektif; (4) surgical safety checklist menjadi prosedur wajib dalam penerapan patient safety dan (5) efektivitas komunikasi dalam penerapan keselamatan pasien. penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan keselamatan pasien di ruang operasi cito/emergency telah berjalan namun masih belum dilaksanakan secara optimal sehingga perlu dilakukan perbaikan terutama dalam manajemen waktu operasi cito, kedisiplinan dalam pengisian checklist serta penguatan komunikasi terutama dalam handover sbar. kata kunci: komunikasi, patient safety, surgical

Cito surgery service is a service performed on patients who require immediate surgery which can be life-threatening. cito surgery services are closely related to the issue of patient safety, where this issue is one of the quality management services that must be integrated with elements of risk management and patient safety. therefore, a new paradigm, that good service quality alone is not enough without considering the element of risk and patient safety, is born. this study aims to find out and explore the implementation of patient safety in the cito/emergency operation room at dr. h. jusuf. sk general hospital. this study uses a qualitative design with a case study approach. the technique of sampling was purposive sampling method involving 10 participants. data collection techniques employed structured interviews and observation methods. the data analysis technique uses braun and clark thematic analysis. the results of the participant interviews revealed five themes that describe the application of patient safety, namely (1) preparing patients for surgery; (2) the patient safety priority; (3) management of operating time that has not been effective; (4) the surgical safety checklist was a mandatory procedure in implementing patient safety and (5) the effectiveness of communication in implementing patient safety. this study concludes that the implementation of patient safety in the cito/emergency operating room had been condected but was still not implemented optimally, so it requires improvement, especially in the management of cito's operating time, discipline in filling out the checklist and strengthening communication, especially in (situation, background, assessment, recommendation) sbar handovers. keywords: communication, patient safety, surgical
