Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui analisis higher order thinking skill pada soal penilaian akhir semester genap mata pelajaran bahasa indonesia di smp negeri 1 sebatik utara. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian jenis deskriptif kualitatif. sumber data penelitian ini diperoleh dari naskah soal penilaian akhir semester genap mata pelajaran bahasa indonesia di smp negeri 1 sebatik utara tahun 2021/2022. data penelitian ini adalah soal penilaian akhir semester genap mata pelajaran bahasa indonesia kelas vii, viii, dan ix di smp negeri 1 sebatik utara tahun 2021/2022. pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara dokumentasi dan wawancara. analisis data dilakukan berdasarkan dimensi kognitif dan kata kerja operasional taksonomi anderson. hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa analisis higher order thinking skill pada soal penilaian akhir semester genap mata pelajaran bahasa indonesia di smp negeri 1 sebatik utara pada kelas vii sebanyak 8 soal, presentase yang diperoleh sekitar 20%. pada kelas viii sebaran higher order thinking skill sebanyak 3 soal sehingga persentase yang diperoleh sekitar 7,5% dan pada kelas ix sebaran higher order thinking skill sebanyak 14 soal, persentase yang diperoleh sekitar 28% soal yang termasuk kategori hots. soal penilaian akhir semester genap mata pelajaran bahasa indonesia hanya terdapat pada dimensi kognitif c4 tidak terdapat dimensi kognitif c5 dan c6 pada soal, dalam penyusunan soal penilaian akhir semester genap didominasi pada dimensi kognitif c1. soal hots sangat kurang diterapkan karena masih banyaknya siswa yang merasa kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal, dan alasan tidak meratanya dimensi kognitif taksonomi anderson pada soal penilaian akhir semester karena tidak dilakukan analisis terlebih dahulu untuk mempertimbangkan setiap tingkatan ranah kognitif pada soal. kata kunci: analisis, dimensi kognitif, higher order thinking skill.

The purpose of this study was to analyze higher order thinking skills (hots) in the question items in bahasa indonesia subject. this is a qualitative descriptive research_ the data source was the text of the final exam in the subject in the even semester for all graders. the data were the question items in the final exam text, used in smp negeri i sebatik in the academic year of 2021/2022. the data collection was done by means of documentation and interviews. the analysis was carried out based on cognitive dimensions and operational verbs of anderson's taxonomy. the results of this study indicate that the analysis of hots in the question items are as follows: the question for the seventh graders on has questions (20%) of hots, the one for eight graders is less than the previous only 3 (7,5%), and the highest for all is those for ninth graders, 14 items (28%). ln terms of their cognitive dimension, they are only at c4 dimension, none of them is at c5 and c6. the most dominant is at c1. in conclusion, hots questions are very poorly applied. their reason is that many students find it difficult to solve the problems. the uneven distribution of anderson's cognitive dimension taxonomy in the questions is due to the absence of evaluation done before to check their levelling distribution, keywords; cognitive dimension, higher order thinking skill, junior high school, question items.
