Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pandangan sebagian besar siswa bahwa pengetahuan harus dihafalkan dan guru yang cenderung kurang kreatif dalam memberdayakan potensi siswa. untuk itu diperlukan sebuah strategi yang melibatkan siswa dalam proses tukar pendapat, diskusi, persentasi. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan pembelajaran pendekatan scientific dikelas iv sdn 002 tanjung palas barat, bagaimana respon siswa terhadap metode ini, bagaimana hasil belajar siswa setelah pendekatan scientific. subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas iv sdn 002 tanjung palas barat berjumlah 10 siswa. hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa diperoleh dengan menggunakan lembarkerja siswa dipertemuan pertama dan kedua, dan diadakan tes setiap akhir siklus serta pengisian lembar observasi aktivitas siswa yang diisi oleh observatornya yaitu guru kelas. dari hasil peneliti yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan scientific dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas belajar siswa kelas iv sdn 002 tanjung palas barat. kata kunci: meningkatkan hasil belajar ipa materi energi alternative, pendekatan scientific

The background of this research is by most students’ view that the knowledge should be memorized, and the teachers tend to be less creative in empowering student’s potential. in case for that, the teachers need strategy that involved students at process of brain storming, discussion, and presentation. the purpose of this research is to know how the learning process science approach in the four grades at sdn 007 tanjung palas barat, how student’s response to this method, how the results of the students after the scientific approach. the subject of this research was the students in four grades at sdn 007 tanjung palas barat, the amount of this class were 10 students. the results and students activity gained with using students worksheet in the first and second meeting and the test was conducted after every cycle also the observed students activity sheet which is filled by the teacher. from the results of the researchers who conducted it can be concluded that the application of a scientific approach can improve learning results and learning activities fourth grade students of sdn 002 tanjung palas barat. keywords: improving student learning results in science learning with nature source, scientific approach
