Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (ptk) yang dilaksanakan di sdn 001 bahau hulu pada semester i tahun ajaran 2016/2017. subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas v sdn 001 bahau hulu yang berjumlah 15 siswa. penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus setiap siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan. prosedur tiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini meliputi lembar observasi kegiatan guru, penilaian aspek kognitif (tes hasil belajar), aspek afektif (disiplin, kerjasama dan santun), dan aspek psikomotorik. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan implementasi model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe word square dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar ipa pada siswa kelas v sdn 001 bahau hulu. hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil yang diperoleh pada setiap siklus, pada siklus i ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa aspek kognitif 87% pada siklus ii meningkat menjadi 100%. pada siklus i ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa aspek afektif 60% pada siklus ii meningkat menjadi 100%. kemudian pada siklus i ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa aspek psikomotorik 47% pada siklus ii meningkat menjadi 100%. maka dapat dikatakan bahwa penelitian sudah berhasil dan sesuai dengan indikator keberhasilan. kata kunci: ptk, hasil belajar, model pembelajaran word square

The research design of this study is classroom action research (car) that is done in sdn 001 bahau hulu at first semester in academic year of 2016/2017. the subjects of this research are students of v sdn 001 bahau hulu which consists of 15 students. the research is conducted in two cycles. each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. the data of this study are gathered by using instrument which are teachers’ observation sheet, cognitive assessment (test of learning achievement), affective assessment (team work, thorough, and be liable) and psychomotor assessment. the result of this research shows that by implementing cooperative learning type of word square can improve students’ achievement in learning at the iii class in sdn 001 bahau hulu. it can be seen by the students’ achievement result in each cycle, in cycle i, the percentage of students’ completeness in cognitive aspect is 87%, and having an improvement in cycle ii, that is 100%. in addition, in cycle i, the percentage of students’ completeness in affective aspect is 60%, and having an improvement in cycle ii, that is 100%. next, in cycle i, the percentage of students’ completeness in psychomotor aspect is 47%, and having an improvement in cycle ii, that is 100%. therefore, it can be concluded that the research is success and achieve the indicator of success. keywords: classroom action research, learning achievement, model of cooperative learning type word square
