Dalam penelitian ini, rumusan masalah diambil oleh peneliti adalah bagaimana hubungan efikasi diri terhadap kemandirian belajar siswa kelas viii smp negeri 2 tarakan yang di bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan efikasi diri terhadap kemandirian belajar siswa kelas viii smp negeri 2 tarakan. metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan desain penelitian korelasi. skala yang digunakan adalah skala likert dengan empat kategori yaitu “sangat tinggi, tinggi, sedang, dan rendah”. subjek penelitian adalah 70 siswa di kelas viii smp negeri 2 tarakan. hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang linier yang dibuktikan dengan hasil uji linieritas dimana nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 yaitu (0,012 < 0,05). selanjutnya tingkat hubungan antara efikasi diri dan kemandirian belajar tergolong kuat. hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai koefisien korelasi yaitu 0,287 yang berada direntang antara 1,999 sampai dengan 3,999. kata kunci: efikasi diri, kemandirian belajar

In this research, the problem identification taken by the researcher is how the relation between self-efficacy toward independent learning junior high school student grade viii smp negeri 2 tarakan which aims to find out the relation between self-efficacy toward independent learning junior high school student grade viii smp negeri 2 tarakan. the research method that the researcher used is quantitative descriptive with correlation research design. the scale that being used is likert scale with four categories i.e. “very high, high, medium, and low”. the subject of this research are 70 students in grade viii smp negeri 2 tarakan. the analysis result showed that there is a linier relation as proved by linierity test results which the significant score is less than 0,05 i.e. (0,012 < 0,05). furthermore, the relation level between self-efficacy and independent learning relatively strong. it is proved with the correlation coefficient score i.e. 0,287 which is in the range between 1,999 until 3,999. keywords: self-efficacy, independent learning
